Melvyn is a retired lighting director and technical manager for the BBC.

After 35 years working for the BBC until semi-retirement, Melvyn now works in an advisory role. Actively involved in the local community as a ‘Justice of the Peace’, Chair of Patient Reference group for 4 years, technical manager for a Newspaper for the blind and an active committee member of local church.

He was previously the Chair of Governors at Ryburn Valley High School with an association with Governance over 25 years overseeing the school PFI new build, setting up the schools media arts specialism and conversion to become a Single Academy Trust. Melvyn was also a Magistrate for Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford District

Melvyn is a member of our Education & Standards Committee.

Melvyn joined Together Learning Trust in April 2019.
