Karen joined Together Learning Trust in April 2019. She is a Trustee and also the Chair of the Audit, Finance and Risk committee. Karen was also voted as the Vice Chair of the Trust Board in Sept 2021.

Karen is a retired chartered accountant (Chartered Institute of Public Finance) with extensive financial experience working for Calderdale Council (including the role of Education Group Accountant) and more recently, until retirement, as Head of Finance with a Housing Association Group and a housing financial consultant.

Karen is also a Trustee and Vice Chair at Scout Road Academy in Mytholmroyd, where she holds the role of responsible officer. She is also a governor representative for the Calder Valley Cluster of Primary Schools and a member of the Calderdale Schools Forum.
