Impactful governance

Last night was our annual governors and trustees conference. The room was buzzing with colleagues from across all our schools and sectors talking, learning and collaborating together. The focus was on maximising the impact of governance, particularly school visits. Governors play a crucial role in organisation, acting as critical friends and providing challenge and support to make sure our schools are magical places to learn.

We're lucky to have Ross of @TeacherToolkit as one of our governors, who shared with us research and insights on how to avoid observational bias. Discussions focussed on the knowledge and tools governors need to report effectively on SEND, safeguarding and curriculum in schools.

It was clear to see throughout the room the engagement, ideas and that energy to keep pushing forward to make an impact for our children and young people. What a pleasure to work with these brilliant people!

If you're considering volunteering as a school governor, we'd love to hear from you.
