The Together Learning Trust warmly welcomes Alex Wainhouse as the Director of History, bringing her two decades of invaluable teaching experience to our educational community. Originally from London, where she held the role of Assistant Head with a focus on Teaching and Learning, Alex's commitment to education and innovative thinking aligns seamlessly with our mission.

Six years ago, Alex and her family made the insightful decision to relocate to Yorkshire, pursuing their dream of building an eco-friendly house on their own land. Since then, they have found joy in their new home, and we are delighted to have Alex as an integral part of our team.

In addition to her role within the Trust, Alex is actively involved in shaping the future of education through her contributions to Huddersfield University, overseeing the PGCE program for History Trainee teachers.

Currently pursuing a Masters in History education, Alex has recently delved into challenging topics such as Holocaust education and motivation as a barrier to learning. Beyond her academic pursuits, her love for running showcases a determination to conquer longer distances at a steady pace, exemplified by her achievements in a 100km ultra marathon and multi-day runs along Hadrian's Wall and the West Highland Way.

Alex Wainhouse's wealth of experience, passion for education, and dedication to fostering a positive learning environment make her a valuable addition to The Together Learning Trust.
